The case diary app for advocates

The paper diary has run Indian practices for generations. CaseNiti keeps what works about it, a clear view of every date, and removes the copying, so the next date is already there when you open it.

Foundation plan: ₹0 for 20 cases. iPhone, Android and web.

What the paper diary does, and where it slips

A case diary answers one question every day: what is listed, and where. Most advocates keep one by hand, writing each next date after the hearing or after checking the court website. It works because it is simple and always in your bag.

It also depends entirely on you. A date copied wrong, a matter adjourned while you were in another court, or a diary left in chambers, and you are guessing. A paper diary cannot tell you that a date has changed. It only knows what you wrote in it.

A diary that fills itself in

CaseNiti works like a diary, but the dates come from the court record instead of your handwriting. Add a case once by searching its case number, court or party name. From then on its next hearing date and status stay in sync, so the diary keeps itself up to date.

Today's page

A daily view of every matter listed today, ready when you open the app.

The whole year

A calendar of every upcoming hearing date across all your cases.

Notes become tasks

The "file reply", "get certified copy" notes in the margin become tasks with due dates and overdue alerts.

Papers with the case

Petitions, orders and documents stored with the case, not in a separate folder.

In your pocket, not on your desk

The best thing about a paper diary is that it travels with you. CaseNiti does too: it runs on iPhone and Android, and on the web at app.caseniti.com. Your list is the same everywhere, so the answer to "next date?" is on your phone when the judge asks.

“I have stopped feeling the need to use my diary. My whole practice now depends on CaseNiti.”

Moving from paper to CaseNiti

  1. Start with this week's matters. Add the cases listed in the next few days first, so the app is useful from day one.
  2. Add the rest as they come up. Each time you turn a diary page, add those matters. Within a few weeks the whole board is in.
  3. Move your margin notes. Turn pending work into tasks with due dates so nothing depends on memory.

Your diary covers more than one forum, and so does CaseNiti: eCourts (district and subordinate courts), High Courts, Debt Recovery Tribunals and Consumer Forums. See how the daily view works in our cause list app guide.

Your diary is confidential. So is CaseNiti.

Case data is stored on Cloudflare R2, encrypted at rest with AES-256 and sent over encrypted TLS (HTTPS) connections. We do not sell your personal information. Read the privacy policy for details.
